One of my dreams ever since I started photography was to do a photography session in the snow. It’s been pretty challenging considering that Las Vegas is in the middle of the desert and doesn’t get a whole lot of snowy weather. I have to thank my close friend Tiffany, her husband Jason and their adorable little munchkin Jovi for braving the extra cold conditions at Mt. Charleston. We almost cancelled because it turned out to be one of the coldest days we’ve had all year, and we weren’t sure if little Jovi would be ok with the cold weather. I’m so glad we didn’t because we pretty much had the entire area all to ourselves! Little Jovi was such a trooper and didn’t complain once about the cold. In fact I think she kinda like the snow!
Everyone who knows me knows that I adore children, but little Jovi Jones will always have a special place in my heart. I don’t know if it’s because she calls me “Liz’s” or that at 18 months I can have a full on adult conversation with her and she understands everything I say. I thought that it was super adorable that she kept saying “hold me” and wanted me to hold her the whole time. At the end of the shoot, I took Jovi out for some one on one time in the snow. I have to say it was very special to me that she trusted me enough to be alone with her while I took some photos…she even did a few poses for me!
We didn’t get to spend as much time as we would’ve liked in the snow because it was freeeezing (although I think Jovi probably could’ve kept on going), but I’m extremely happy with the images of the beautiful Jones family that I was able to capture. For all you folks with a sweet tooth, you might know Tiffany from her adorable bake shop Peridot Sweets! Thanks again to Tiffany, Jason and Jovi for giving me the opportunity to fulfill one of my photography goals, and an extra shout out to Ms. Jovi Jones for being so adorable!
