I have never seen two people more in love than Susie and Mike. We took the 45 min drive up to Mt. Charleston for their engagement session to escape the summer heat of Las Vegas. It was a beautiful drive with an endless sea of tall pine trees lining the road going up the mountain, going back as far as the eye could see. I have taken this route many times with friends and family throughout the seasons and the natural beauty of Mt. Charleston never ceases to amaze me. It was Susie and Mike’s first time up the mountain and they were so amazed that such a place existed so close to the desert of Las Vegas.
Right away Susie and I bonded over the stresses of planning a wedding. I had just gotten married a few weeks before meeting Susie so it was all very fresh in my mind. When it came time for their engagement session Susie and Mike trusted in my choice of location and proved to be my easiest couple to photograph to date. I had enough good material within the first 5 minutes!!! But of course, I just had to take a few more photos of this beautiful couple to satisfy my own desire to shoot. They were natural and had all the poses down without my guidance or prompting. I’d like to think that it was because they were so comfortable around me from all the time we spent together.
We were fortunate enough to shoot Susie and Mike’s engagement photos a few weeks before a huge wild fire ravaged the natural mountain beauty. I feel so blessed we were able to shoot Susie + Mike’s Engagement photos with the gorgeous mountain as a back drop, these two love birds are so into each other and it shows! I hope that these photos remind us all never to take anything for granted!
